Brought my daughter car here for occasional stalling and Service light being on. First time going here. After it was diagnosed, service manager essentially told me the car was done. Timing chain, turbo was gone, etc. essentially I should abandon the car and buy a new one. Crazy! Took it somewhere else for a second opinion. New place suggested I change and flush the oil again, as a first step. ( low hanging fruit). Tried it and now the car is 90% better. The car did not actually need to be scrapped. Really disappointed with the Alliston VW. Will never go there again and definitely would not recommend the place. Not sure if this was a one off or not. They could have recommended to try the steady stuff first, not scrap the car. I completed the VW survey expressing my concern. No response from them also.

I purchased my vehicle at Barrie Volkswagen. I live in alliston so it’s easier to go to alliston Volkswagen, ever since though it’s been nothing but terrible service. The service communication was terrible as I thought I was bringing my car in to get the work done but the part wasn’t even in. Then when the part did come in it was shoved into a crate and damaged on the way to the dealership. I waited a few more days and during all this I was the one who called every day sometimes three times a day to get the status of the car as the communication lacked. After this moonroof frame was fixed and I had no more cracking sounds I was out of my car for a full week! If the part wasn’t damaged or the communication was better I wouldn’t have been outta my car for a full week. We spend 50K on a car the very least I expect is communication. My second experience was just as bad, never did they call me, I had to call them every time. The gentleman at the service desk had told me he had temporarily fixed my car and it would get to Florida (trip I had coming up) then that same day my low oil pressure came on again which was misleading information. I then brought it back the following Monday to get fixed fixed and he had told me that if this doesn’t work we will need to do an oil change to see if that would fix it as he thought it may be a filter or oil. I told him I find that hard to believe and I’m not paying for an oil change on a hunch that this might work when I just paid for an oil change a week and a half ago.. he then told me that if I want him to keep looking into it I had to pay 160$ and get them to do the oil change to see if that was it first. I had put the correct oil in it and had a licensed mechanic (master mechanic) do my oil change. I kept telling him that and he kept saying there is nothing he can do unless I go ahead with the 160$ oil change. I would expect over and above to get to a problem instead of making the “valued customer” pay for another oil change. If that didn’t work then what? I thought it was unfair and unprofessional to put a stop to figuring out my 2019 vehicle problem until I pay 160$ to rule out that the oil change from master mechanic was done properly. He called master mechanic and verified they put the correct oil in so I seen no reason why he even brought me paying anything up for. Best way I could describe this dealership is they are calm spoken and nice in that way but I wouldn’t ever expect them to go over and beyond for you. I would not recommend this dealership what so ever buying or maintaining. When I spoke with master mechanic they said buy a VW oil filter and we will put it in for free to see if that is the issue. That’s the customer service I expect!
