... we were told after numerous attempts to repair my son's transmission (sent as a warranty job from Beorgious Ford in Midland) that a new off-the-shelf OEM Factory transmission was being installed and we will have no further problems. Well 30,000 km later the transmission is shot with the reason that we should have brought it in to him to have the cylinder management bypassed and that it was a misunderstanding that a new transmission was being installed. Subsequently we did have a disabler installed short post rebuild. Poorly rebuilt tranny, evidence that things were missed as we now have it disected elsewhere. The Ford dealer as the primary has been given the opportunity to do something to make this right but no warrantly this route. Expensive lesson. Feel that Alliston trans could have done a better on this one...as it was in so many times to get resolved and never really was...

The attention to detail, especially the test drive before and after the service to ensure everything was safe and working correctly, was greatly appreciated. The service provided by Gardiner and Sasha was outstanding. Their knowledge is fantastic. Everything they told me they would do they did, and more. I'm grateful for all their help and the experience.
**I've updated this review after everything was settled. Even though there was some inconvenience with my first experience here, I want to be fair to a local business. My first experience with this shop started off well. They sent me a quote online and squeezed my car in during the week, which would have been a life saver given that I commute. The staff were also friendly at drop off. Things got a bit dicey after dropping off my car. They didn't get the correct part in twice and they couldn't repair my car that day. This put me out of a vehicle for another day and they couldn't offer a loaner. They also pointed out a number of other issues on my car. I had my car looked at by another garage just before I brought it in. Who knows? Maybe Alliston Transmission was more thorough. I'll have to look more into this. What alarmed me most was that another charge appeared on the online estimate for "noise inspection". I was clear about what needed to get done on my car. This and being told X, Y and Z needed to get done on my car wasn't inspiring confidence. The next day, though, they were very apologetic. They dropped the additional charge and also took a bit more off the bill, which goes to show that they try to rectify things. All and all, I don't want to be overly negative. The business of car repairs can be complicated. I would be up front with what you'd like done and what you expect to be done with your vehicle.
Brought a torque converter core to be rebuilt and was given an initial quote, a couple delays resulted in me asking to have it back, was told it's already been shipped to builder, now 1yr has passed and I haven't received my converter or core back.
Brought my flywheel here to get resurfaced and they snapped one of the dowels on it and didn’t want to replace it or take accountability for the fact that they broke it and it was their fault. The owner actually told me that I should have removed them prior to bringing in the flywheel if I was so concerned about them breaking, it is not typical to break dowel pins unless the person working on the flywheel has no idea what they are doing, told me he was gonna replace the dowels by Wednesday this week and have not heard a word from them since. I wouldn’t trust this shop putting washer fluid in my car if you need to get any work done in town don’t go here the owner doesn’t know how to run a business. It’s a shame Alliston transmission used to be a good shop until it was taken over now it just sucks… it’s sad.
